Work progress

From checking the substrate and hanging 80 m² of wallpaper to finishing openings and replacing MDF skirting boards with polyurethane ones.

Substrate inspection

Before hanging the wallpaper, we checked the walls, corners and junctions so that the textured covering would sit on an even surface.

Panel layout

We arranged the panels across the main surfaces, accounting for openings, corners and electrical points in advance.

Wallpapering walls

We papered the walls in sequence, maintaining the texture direction and discreet seams between adjacent strips.

Openings and electrical points

We carefully trimmed around door frames, sockets, switches, skirting and balcony glazing.

Replacing skirting

We removed the MDF skirting, installed modern polyurethane skirting and finished corners and junctions.

Key considerations

  • Room with light textured wallpaper, a stepladder and a balcony overlooking the marina

    Air circulation

In Montenegro's climate, wallpaper cannot be considered separately from ventilation. Without consistent air exchange, humidity and mould risk increase, and finishes may need renewing in about a year. This apartment's heat-recovery ventilation was installed before wallpapering.

  • Close-up of the wallpaper texture around a multi-gang switch

    Electrical points

Textured wallpaper requires precise joining and trimming around switches, sockets and door frames.

  • Close-up of textured wallpaper at an external corner and a neatly fitted decorative skirting board

    Junctions

Polyurethane skirting is installed after wallpapering, with precisely fitted joints, corners and junctions.
